Digital Voice for Amateur Radio - DVD
"Digital Voice for Amateur Radio"
Club meeting program on DVD from
ARVN: Amateur Radio//Video News
[align=center]

I have begun producing Amateur Radio related do(edited)entary style programs on DVD. My aim for most of them is to make good, affordable material for club meeting programs. These are high-quality, professionally produced videos, albeit on a shoestring budget. I also have DVDs of some forums, seminars and demonstrations.

The best way to see if these may interest you is to stop by my web site and take a look. Most of them have free previews hosted by YouTube, but they play right on my site: www.arvideonews.com.

I will mention my newest program - Digital Voice for Amateur Radio. This one-hour do(edited)entary covers the new Digital Voice modes for HF and VHF/UHF. It provides a comprehensive introduction to what may be the future of Amateur Radio.

If you want to join my mailing list, reply to this e-mail and let me know. I won't sell, rent or give away your address - it stays private with me.
Thanks for your attention, and 73,

Gary KN4AQ

ARRL Southeastern Division Director Election
Dear Amateur Radio Operator:

As you may or may not know, Frank Butler, W4RH, is retiring after 27 years at the end of 2007 as the ARRL Southeastern Division Director. Frank has done an excellent job as Director and, while we will miss him and his leadership, I have a strong desire to serve the Southeastern Region in this capacity.

I have served as ARRL Section Manager for nearly 4 years, which has given me the opportunity to meet and work with many of you. My time with ARRL has been very rewarding in a number of ways. Foremost it has allowed me to build relationships and gain valuable experience working with ARRL headquarters, emergency communications, DXing, VHF/UHF, public service, education, contesting, hamfests, clubs, operating events, youth membership and digital operations.

As the ARRL Southeastern Division Director, I will represent the entire Southeastern Division. In this capacity, I plan to promote all facets of our great hobby, incorporating both older and newer technologies, DX, and enhancing our emergency communication capabilities.

I know that when we work together, big projects are possible, especially when capitalizing on the diverse Southeastern amateur capability, experience, spirit and numbers. This will help make ham radio the best hobby and public service contributor it can be. I sincerely want to be your ARRL Southeastern Director and I believe that together we can make our Division the best of all 15 Divisions.

You ARE amateur radio. Your voice counts. Your vote counts.

I am asking for your personal endorsement, support and votes from your clubs and groups.

Please call your friends in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico,
and the U.S. Virgin Islands and ask them to vote for me,
Greg Sarratt, W4OZK, as ARRL Southeastern Division Director in October!

Remember, together we can have a major positive impact! I would appreciate your vote and support in this all-important, sought-after position.

Look for more Southeastern Division election information coming up; through flyers and on my web site, www.w4ozk.com.

Thank you,
Greg Sarratt, W4OZK

Amateur Radio On 911
Ham It Up for 911
On Tuesday September 11, 2007 Amateur Radio Operators in Fort Wayne, Indiana will take the lead in the city's 911 events as Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day and The Fort Wayne Patriots team-up to sponsor a tribute for the citizens of our area.

The two groups decided to organize the event together after receiving the challenge from The U.S. Defense Department's "America Supports You" division. www.americasupportsyou.org

After a very short notice, about two weeks; the two groups put on a very successful event in 2006 which included local community leaders, and the 3rd Indiana District House Representative Mark Souder.

The event saluted local First Responders as well as those that died during the tragic terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Because the event for 2006 turned out very well, even with rain showers, the groups decided to promote FreedomWalk / 911 for 2007.

The 2007 event will be held on 9/11/07 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. There will be guest speakers, music, including a mini concert featuring recording artist Samantha Allen of Texas, local, County, and State Police Officers, officials, and the Fort Wayne Fire department.

The event will kick off with music from DJ Ken Reese of Fort Wayne, and WBYR "The Bear; a local FM Radio station.
We also plan to have a ride-by featuring various patriotic motorcycle Groups.

Amateur Radio Operators will also be on the air running a Special Event Station which will also attempt to contact other 911 Special Event Stations around the country.
For operating information check out www.armad.net and click on the "event info" link.

This event will give Amateur Radio an opportunity to be at the forefront of a community event as Amateur Radio, The Fort Wayne Patriots and Liberty Tax Service of Fort Wayne are the sponsors. Emery Mcclendon, KB9IBW, will EMCEE the program.

Various Amateur Radio operators will also be on the program as speakers letting the people that attend hear topics such as emergency communications, how to become an Amateur Radio Operators, and more.

The event is receiving very good publicity, and news coverage.

Join us on the air as we "Ham It Up" for 911.

Please feel free to contact us during this special time of community service so that we can demonstrate our hobby.
